The core causes include: uneven adjustment of the doctor blade gap of the tape casting machine, fluctuation of the base belt running speed, unstable discharge flow of the hopper; in addition, factors such as uneven viscosity distribution of the slurry and insufficient flatness of the base belt surface will also aggravate this problem.

Typical surface defects include pores, scratches, ripples, etc. Causes of pores: Bubbles in the slurry are not completely removed, or the temperature of the drying channel of the tape casting machine is too high, leading to rapid volatilization of the solvent and formation of gas retention; scratches are mainly caused by impurities attached to the surface of the doctor blade of the tape casting machine, foreign objects on the surface of the base belt, and the powder of the ball-milled slurry; ripple defects are caused by the mismatch between the running speed of the base belt and the discharge flow of the hopper, resulting in turbulence during the slurry spreading process.

The drying and peeling process parameters during the tape casting process are unreasonable: If the drying temperature gradient of the tape casting machine is improperly set during the drying stage, it will cause the solvent on the surface of the green body to volatilize rapidly, while the diffusion of the internal solvent is blocked, thereby generating a difference in internal and external shrinkage stress and causing cracking defects; curling defects are due to the fact that the drying speed on both sides of the green body is higher than that in the central area, or the peeling angle of the tape casting machine is too large and the shrinkage force is too high, leading to stress deformation of the green sheet edge.

A12. It is mainly manifested in the high porosity of the green body, which is prone to deformation, performance degradation and other problems during the subsequent sintering process. Cause analysis: The content of binder in the slurry is too high, making it difficult to achieve close packing of powder particles during the tape casting forming stage; the pressure of the doctor blade of the tape casting machine is insufficient, leading to loose arrangement of particles after the slurry is spread; a large number of pores are formed by solvent volatilization during the drying process, which cannot be effectively eliminated. It is recommended to carry out post-processing, using WIP equipment for densification treatment by warm water pressure to improve the densification of the green sheet.
